Operation Cybersecurity: FBI Targets Internet Safety With New Online Children’s Program

The FBI-SOS (Safe Online Surfing) Internet Challenge, which launched in October, takes a gamer’s approach to teaching kids how to stay safe online. Age-appropriate lessons for grades three through eight teach kids about important topics such as cyberbullying, online predators, security, and more.

Participating schools are ranked on a leader board, giving them the chance to win prizes such as trophies and even a visit from a real live FBI agent!

Although the program is specifically targeted towards schools, you don’t have to be enrolled in a class or even register with the FBI (egads!) to play. Any child (or child at heart) can take the challenge, so if you’re looking for a way to broach the topic of Internet safety with your youngster, this might be a good activity to try together.
