How do I install Qustodio on an Android device?

Overview

This article tells you how to download and install the Qustodio application on your child's Android smartphone or tablet if:

  • You don’t have a Qustodio account
  • You already have a Qustodio account ( This also means you have installed Qustodio on at least one Windows, Mac or Android device: www.qustodio.com/download/ )

Once you install Qustodio on a device, it sends information to the Qustodio Family Portal. You can monitor your child’s use of the device through the Portal.

Choose one of the following options

I have an account

Download and Install Qustodio

Repeat these steps for each Android device you want your child to use. Downloading and installing Qustodio takes about ten minutes.

1.Open the Google Play App and Search for Qustodio.

2. Tap the Qustodio app.

3. Tap Install.

4. Review the Permissions, then tap Accept.

5. Open the Qustodio app.

6. Tap I have an account.

7. Enter your email address and password.

8. Choose the This is a kid’s device Option.

9. Enter a name for the device.

Tip. Choose a name that obviously and visibly links to this specific device, such as Android HTC if the device is branded HTC.

10. Choose the user of the device.

11. When prompted to Activate app supervision, choose Activate Now.

12. Tap Qustodio.

13. Toggle on Permit usage access.

14. When prompted to Activate web Supervision, choose Activate Now.

15. Tap Qustodio.

16. Toggle on this option.

17. Tap OK.

18. When prompted to Activate uninstall protection, choose Activate Now.

19. Tap Activate.

20. Congratulations! You have now installed Qustodio.

I am new to Qustodio

1.Open the Google Play App and search for Qustodio.

2. Tap the Qustodio app.

3. Tap Install.

4. Review the Permissions, then tap Accept.

5. Open the Qustodio app.

6. Tap I’m new to Qustodio.

7. Enter your name and email address.

Qustodio will send you an email to activate the account. Protection will not be active on the device until you have read the email and confirmed your account.

8. Enter your password.

9. Enter a name for the device.

Tip. Choose a name that obviously and visibly links to this specific device, such as Android HTC if the device is branded HTC.

10. Enter your child’s name, year of birth, and gender.

11. Tap an avatar for your child.

12. When prompted to Activate app supervision choose to Activate Now.

13. Tap Qustodio.

14. Toggle on Permit usage access.

15. When prompted to Activate web Supervision choose to Activate Now.

16. Tap Qustodio.

17. Toggle on this option.

18. Tap OK.

19. When prompted to Activate uninstall protection choose to Activate Now.

20. Tap Activate.

21. Congratulations! The install process is complete.

Next Steps Consider creating some activity on this device so that you can verify that it shows up in the Qustodio Family Portal.

I Want to install the Parents' App

To install Qustodio as a Parents' App you will need to follow these steps:

1. Download Qustodio from the Google Play app.

2. If you have an account, choose the I have an account option and log in to your account.

3. Choose the This is a Parent’s device option.

4. Tap I understand.

5. Carefully read the instructions provided.

Congratulations! You have now installed the Qustodio Parents' App
