How do I install Qustodio on an iOS device?
This article explains how to install Qustodio on an iOS device (iPod, iPhone, or iPad). You can then monitor your child's use of the device through the Family Portal.
Important
- Qustodio is compatible with iOS 11 or higher.
- Qustodio for iOS is a bit different than Qustodio for Android, Mac, and Windows. Some of the features available on Android, Mac, or Windows are not yet available for iOS. Please read these FAQs to learn more about supported features and known issues with Qustodio for iOS.
Before you start
- Make sure to remove any restrictions on the device. Go to Settings > Screentime and select Disable Screentime (on older iOS versions this option was called Restrictions).
- Make sure that Javascript is activated in Safari: Settings > Safari > Advanced > Javascript.
- Make sure to uninstall any previous version of Qustodio from your device. Please find instructions in our Help Center.
How to install Qustodio for iOS
1. Open the App Store on the iOS device you want to monitor.
2. Search for Qustodio Parental Control for iPad and iPhone
3. Install the Qustodio app.
4. Open Qustodio, and choose between the following:
I am new to Qustodio
5. Create a new account by entering your email address and your password.6. Enter a name, birth year, and gender for the child you want to protect. Tap Next.
7. Choose an avatar for that child.
8. Choose a device name and tap Next.
9. Tap Grant to give location permissions for this device.
10. Next, when Qustodio asks for permission to activate your motion fitness and movement activity tap Ok.
11. Choose the Settings option when asked to turn on Location settings.
12. Then turn on the location services.
13. Tap Install iOS Profile to install the Qustodio profile on this device.
14. Tap Install in the top right corner.
15. Enter the device passcode.
16. Read the screen carefully and tap Install in the top right corner.
17. Tap Trust and then Done.
18. Swipe to go to the next screen. Read each screen carefully and then tap Close Tour.
I have an account
5. Open the Qustodio app, and choose the option I have an account.6. Log in to your account by entering your email address and password.
7. Choose the child you want to monitor. Tap Next.
8. Choose the device name and tap Next.
9. The next screens are to grant location permissions on the device, on this screen tap Grant.
10. Then, when Qustodio asks for permission to activate your motion fitness and movement activity tap Ok.
11. Choose the Settings option when asked to turn on Location settings.
12. Then turn on the location services.
13. Next you will be asked to install the Qustodio profile on the device. Tap Install iOS Profile.
14. Tap Install in the top right corner.
15. Enter the device passcode.
16. Read the screen carefully and tap Install in the top right corner.
17. Tap Trust and then tap Done.
18. Swipe to go to the next screen and read each screen carefully until you reach the final one. Tap Close Tour.
19. That's all! The following screen is shown, and you can now go back to the home screen of your device.
I Want to install the Parents' App
To install Qustodio as a Parents' App you will need to follow these steps:
1. Download the Qustodio app from the AppStore.
2. If you have an account, choose the I have an account option and log in to your account.
3. Choose the This is a Parent’s device option.
4. Tap I understand.
5. Carefully read the instructions provided.
