Direct messages are one of the main ways children stay connected with their friends, but they can also bring hidden risks. Cyberbullying, scams, and inappropriate content can all appear in DMs, making it hard for parents to keep track. Qustodio’s social monitoring feature now helps by sending alerts when concerning messages are detected on Snapchat, TikTok, and X on Android. Parents receive clear information about the message and its context, so they can respond quickly and keep their children safe. This feature is available for premium complete and trial plan users and begins monitoring automatically once Qustodio is installed with no setup required.
You can manage Snapchat, TikTok, and X alerts right from the social monitoring feature of your Qustodio app. These alerts give you a clear window into potentially risky conversations in your child’s direct messages, helping you take action before small concerns turn into bigger problems. Read on for full details.
How it works
Once Qustodio is installed on your child’s Android device, Snapchat, TikTok, and X direct message monitoring starts automatically. No setup is needed, it just works straight away.
Alert Notifications
Whenever a risky message is detected, you’ll receive an instant alert via push notification and email. The alert appears in your timeline and includes the sender’s nickname, a preview of the message, and the type of concern, such as bullying, violence, or body image.
Detailed View
Tapping the alert opens a detailed view with concerning messages highlighted, up to three earlier messages for context, the group name (if applicable), device used, and time of detection.
Clear and Simple
All information is presented clearly and simply, helping you quickly grasp the situation and take any necessary action.
