AI tools are on the rise among children and teens, and ChatGPT has become a go-to source where they get answers to questions, seek advice, and often just talk. It’s a space with no other parent in the loop, which can make it hard to know what’s really being discussed.
What’s new
Smart alerts already help parents stay aware of what’s happening across the apps their kids use most, flagging risky moments so nothing slips by unnoticed. Today, we’re expanding that protection with a new category: AI tools, starting with ChatGPT.
How it works
As with the rest of Smart alerts, this feature uses AI-powered technology to review your child’s ChatGPT conversations for signs of risky topics. If something concerning comes up, you’ll receive a real-time alert with a summary of what was discussed, so you can decide how to respond. You can review alerts or adjust your settings anytime from Smart alerts.
For now, ChatGPT alerts are available for parents protecting Android devices, with support for other platforms in the works.
