School Internet Filter Fails 11-Year-Old

When an 11-year old girl at Inverbrothock Primary School opened her school email account on Thursday, she was shocked to find a picture of a topless woman among her messages. Apparently, the girls’ classmates used school computers to access and email the image.

An investigation is ongoing to determine exactly how the mature content got through the school’s Internet filters. Education committee official Sheena Welsh says she is unaware of any loopholes, according to The Courier. This argument isn’t likely to convince the girl’s father, who will meet with Angus Council education chiefs next week.

What do you think? Should this be a warning to parents that schools need to clamp down on Internet safety? If so, how?
