Halloween is one of our favorite times of the year. We love dressing up, carving pumpkins, and giving—and eating—lots of candy. In the spirit of the season, we’ve been playing around with some spooktacular apps and wanted to share our favorites with you. We hope you’ll consider giving your kids a digital treat this Halloween by downloading one of these scary fun apps for kids.
### Pumpkin Creation – Halloween Dress Game (ages 4+)
This simple, fun app created by Libii Tech Limited will make a great seasonal treat for little ones. After installing the app, your little one can carve and decorate his or her own digital Jack-o-Lantern. There are lots of options to choose from including nearly two dozen eyes, noses, and mouths as well as fun accessories like bat wings and witches’ hats. Once they’re done, youngsters can add their creations to an album, and mom and dad can even send them to grandparents via email as special holiday gifts!
### Halloween Pics! Scary Picture Quiz (ages 9+)
This engaging app presents portions of a creepy image for kids to tap and uncover. When they guess the object, they have to type in their response to earn points and move on to the next image. As kids level-up, they are presented with more challenging puzzles. Uncovering the picture is a little like solving a mystery , and as a plus for parents, kids are unknowingly practicing their spelling skills as they enter their answers. Beware, some of the images can be disturbing for younger or more sensitive kids. Think skulls, coffins, etc.
### Haunted Halloween Escape (ages 9+)
If your child is up for a challenge this Halloween, try this app by TeraLumina Games. The object of the game is to find hidden items and solve riddles in order to escape a haunted room. Although the items aren’t that hard to locate, the riddles can be a bit difficult. It’s a nicely animated app, but because of the scary images and difficulty level, it’s recommended for kids (and adults!) over the age of nine.
Apps can make fun treats for the holiday, especially when they’re free!
Happy Halloween from Qustodio!
